SpendMoth (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by MagiQa. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website at spendmoth.com and our iOS and Android mobile apps, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: username, email address, name, and a hashed password when you register.
- Financial data you enter: credit and debit card details you choose to store (such as bank name, card nickname, limits, and balances), expenses, income, payments, categories, and transaction notes.
- Profile data: optional profile photo if you upload one.
- Usage data: basic server logs (IP address, browser or app version, pages or API requests, timestamps) used for security and reliability.
We do not connect to your bank for automatic transaction import in the current release. Data you see in SpendMoth is data you or your devices submit to our service.
How we use your information
- Provide and maintain your account and sync data across web and mobile.
- Display dashboards, reports, payments, and spending insights you request.
- Respond to support requests and protect against abuse or unauthorized access.
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
How we store and protect data
Your data is stored on servers we operate or contract with, protected by HTTPS in transit and access controls in production. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to reduce risk through patching, monitoring, and least-privilege access.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account data while your account is active. You may request account deletion at spendmoth.com/delete-account/ or by emailing support@spendmoth.com. We will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period unless we must retain it for legal, security, or backup reasons.
Third parties
We use infrastructure providers (hosting, SSL, DNS) to run the service. They process data only as needed to operate SpendMoth. When you submit app store reviews or install from Apple App Store or Google Play, those platforms’ privacy policies also apply.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us at support@spendmoth.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
SpendMoth is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
